Has anyone tried IR on the D70? I want to find our before i invest in a filter.

I do have a couple of shots floating around - these were taken with an R72 filter, if I recall correctly. I'll post 'em in the photos section. -

You should, IMHO, be able to "try" it in a decent camera store.
Start with Hoya's R72. Expect to need it on a tripod...
I'm almost certain that Nikon's D70 uses the same (Sony) sensor
as the old K-M 5D/7D did, and I know that some people have been
VERY happy with IR on the 5D/7D. Dunno how Nikon vs. KM do the
filter/mask/etc stuff, though, and it could have some bearing.
Still, overall, I expect you'll be able to get some VERY nice results.

You have a really excellent collection. I have a D-100 that is converted to a full time IR camera. It is a major amount of fun. Hope to see more of your work
