Hey folks - I am wondering if there are any IR filters that will work with the Canon Digital Rebel? I'm new the IR photography, but would love to try it out.
Thanks!

Re: Digital Rebel
Sun, September 3, 2006 - 9:30 PMi am not sure how well the Digital Rebel will work for IR. I may have a hot mirror over the CCD. As for filters I use a HOYA # R72 and it works pretty good. Let us know how it works with the Rebel, I am thinking of get one also. -

Yeah; some cameras can have hotspots that will cause problems in IR shoots. The lack of web-hits vs. the (VERY common!) digital rebel isn't a good sign...
I'm planning to get into the field myself, Real Soon Now (my camera, Sony's a100 dSLR, turns out to be a wonderful IR platform! Who knew? It was no part of my plan when I bought it...). :-/
I've got bunches of stuff I want to do now that I'm foraying into digital from film, though. I'm afraid that getting more RAM, and Photoshop, are higher priorities than IR.

Re: Digital Rebel
Mon, September 4, 2006 - 2:06 PMI searched all of my resource info and can not find anything about IR and the Canon Digital Rebel. That being said I would thing a sturdy tripod and a Hoya R72 or a B+W 092 filter on a bright sunny day should give you great results. Please share your results with us, this sounds like a step into a new environment.

Re: Digital Rebel
Fri, December 22, 2006 - 5:45 PMThere is a company out there that can trasform your camera into a IR camera. I've had a few friends try it and love their new toys. I can get the name if your interested from a friend. Let me know
